Set in a colette style bezel that swivels on axis to reveal a secret token
Displaying a gold cameo of Napoleon Bonaparte shown in profile
Reverse of token is inscribed 'Il Pase A L'Immortalite Le 5 Mai 1821'
Translating to "He passed in immortality on May 5th, 1821"
Commemorating Napoleon Bonapartes death day
With a highly rendered floral and foliate motif surround
Accented by rose gold flowers and granulation detail
Completed by yellow gold shank
Tested as 22 karat gold
Circa: 1820s

Accompanied by letters containing historical accounts of the rings ownership. An original letter states that the ring once belonged to the wife of a man who accompanied Napoleon into exile on St. Helene. Another follows the purchase of the ring and subsequent heirloom trajectory through a family.
