About the Item
This is a wonderfully hand made yellow gold Georgian mourning ring. The ring is set with a central rose cut diamond in a cut collet setting and is surrounded by five original natural pearls. Fine black enamelling fills a shielded face and continues onto both open twisted shoulders; each of which has been expertly shaped and offers a quality example of the high level of Georgian craftsmanship. The inside of the ring is inscribed with the date '1845' and the name of the deceased, whilst the back showcases an open locket compartment with braided hair.
