About the Item
This 1.51-carat round brilliant galaxy diamond has a champagne warmth to it, with inclusions scattered across the stone in shades of brown and white. The color is lighter than most salt-and-pepper diamonds, with a translucent, almost golden quality that catches light differently depending on the angle. It's easy to see how these stones earned the galaxy name.
Pavé diamonds (0.11 carats total) run along the band, their bright sparkle providing a crisp frame for the warmer tones of the center stone. The contrast works well here, neither overpowering the other.
At Ursula Rickmers Jewelry, we set this ring in 18k white gold. Four prongs secure the diamond, and from the side, the setting reveals a sculptural basket with curved supports that cradle the stone while allowing light to enter from below.
