This extraordinary Victorian ring (circa 1880) showcases a richly carved amethyst, its surface adorned with a rose cut diamond bird and flower—motifs celebrating nature, renewal, and sentiment. The gem is mounted in an ornate 18k gold setting, further embellished with sparkling single cut diamond accents that bring the jewel to life with light and texture.
The face of the ring measures 0.6 inches north to south with a rise of 0.3 inches above the finger, giving it both presence and dimension. It is a size 5.5, weighs 7.4 grams, and may be resized upon request for an additional charge. The gold has been authenticated through XRF (x-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming both purity and integrity.
In good condition, this jewel is a striking example of late Victorian artistry, combining gemstone carving with symbolic motifs and richly detailed goldwork. There is a small bit of loss to the gold leaf on the tail of the bird.
