An emerald-cut iolite is set east–west across the finger in this 10k yellow gold solitaire ring, giving a clean, modern twist to a classic coloured stone. The elongated, horizontal setting emphasises the stone’s sleek geometry, while the warm gold band offers a soft contrast to iolite’s naturally blue-violet tones. Fine iolite is rarely treated, so its colour is entirely natural — revealed through precise cutting and polishing — and shifts subtly from inky indigo to softer violet in different lights.
