About the Item
This captivating boulder opal ring features a rich chocolate-brown matrix enlivened with flashes of vivid blue veining, creating a mesmerizing play of color unique to this gem type. The stone is set in an elegant, asymmetrical mounting of 10k gold, crafted in the sinuous lines of the Art Nouveau era (circa 1910). The boulder opal is a later replacement, harmoniously integrated into the antique setting.
The face of the ring measures 1.1 inches north to south by 0.6 inches across, offering a striking presence on the hand. The gold has been authenticated through XRF analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, ensuring purity and integrity.
Currently a size 3.5, the ring may be re-sized upon request for an additional charge. In very good condition, this piece embodies the graceful artistry of early 20th-century design, brought to life with the distinctive vibrancy of boulder opal.
