A c1850 18ct gold ring set with an onyx that has a finely carved intaglio of a pansy. Victorian's loved symbolism. The Victorian secret message which is a pun on the word Pansy means “Pense a Moi” Think of me. This ring may well have been given as a gift to express affection.
