About the Item
A Continental Turn-of-the-last-century pearl, diamond and ruby navette ring, to the centre a round pearl of cream colour, vertically-set between four old-cut diamonds, all surrounded by a calibre-cut synthetic ruby-set frame, to diamond-set split shoulders. all set in platinum and yellow gold, gross weight 3.7 grams, circa 1905, marked 18ct gold, the head measuring 2.2x1.7cm, finger size O 1/2.

This stunning Edwardian ring comes from the collection of Bentley
Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. Navette rings such as this are very flattering: the shape has an elongating effect on the finger. This lovely ring features a frame of early synthetic rubies, which were very popular in the early years of the twentieth century, in which is set lovely and glinting diamonds and a lustrous pearl. Flanking the navette plaque are diamonds set in a leaf motif, a popular motif from this period. This unique and eye-catching ring makes an elegant statement.
