About the Item
One of a Kind Editions Ring hand-fabricated in Japan by jewelry designer Shinobu Marotta (Talkative Atelier) showcasing an exceptional, rare 3.78 carat precious picture opal from the Queensland mine in Australia, framed and bezel-set in satin-finished 22k yellow gold atop an intricately hand-crafted, woven-texture band in satin-finished 18k yellow gold. This phenomenal and precious boulder picture opal is highly coveted for its landscape patterning and extraordinary color play and iridescence radiating out of the gemstone.
Size 6.7 US / 53 EU. Stamped and hallmarked. Loose opal measures 16.9mm x 9.8mm x 3mm.
About the Maker - Shinobu Marotta, founder of the Talkative Atelier, had a career as a graphic designer before entering the world of fine jewelry. After embarking on developing skills in jewelry design and craftsmanship, she joined a leading jewelry company in her native Japan and spent several years working in the industry and studying the landscape of the market. Ultimately, Shinobu recognized that there was a void in more casual overseas art jewelry that needed to be filled, and in 2008, she launched Talkative in order to offer fine jewelry that could be worn casually and that would appeal to a more contemporary aesthetic. Her jewelry is intended to spark a conversation, and her modern twist on traditional Japanese craftsmanship results in expressive jewelry that is intended for independent women who like to express themselves through style and adornment.
