About the Item
This captivating vintage circa 1960s ring features a 1/4 bezel set rectangular carnelian, the reddish-orange version of chalcedony. In this case, the stone has been carved inwards, in the classic Italian fashion, with the profile of a Roman soldier. The detailed carving brings the figure to life, capturing the strength and dignity of the subject with remarkable precision. The fluted side design adds to the elegant simplicity of the ring making the intaglio the main feature.
Currently a finger size 10, this ring can be sized; however, we do not offer this service. The rectangular gold face containing the intaglio measures approximately 3/4" long x 5/8" wide. The top of the ring measures approximately 3/4" wide tapering to 4.52mm x 1.28mm for the shank. The ring weighs 7.7 grams.
Whether worn as a statement piece of cherished as a collector's item, it is sure to evoke admiration and intrigue wherever it goes.
