About the Item
Rare large amber cabochon ring handcrafted in Latvia. This early amber jewelry is quite rare in its traditional Latvian jewelry craftsmanship and all one of a kind. The ring has not been cleaned whatsoever and the oxidation of the sterling silver metal adds a darkened patina in crevices and add's to the unique style of the traditional Latvian jewelry.
Baltic amber is 34-48 million years old (Seyfullah et al. 2018), having been deposited during the Lutetian stage of the Middle Eocene. The main deposits of Baltic amber are on the southern shores of the Baltic Sea.
