Art Deco Platinum and French Cut Sapphires featuring a 1.30 Carat Natural Cabochon Sugarloaf Sapphire c.1925.
As the Art Deco craze swept the fashion world of the 1920s, so too did the rise of costume jewelry. Brightly colored birthstones cut into ovals and sequentially arranged squares and rectangles were all the rage with flapper girls bounding across dance floors to the strains of Al Jolson, Louis Armstrong, and Jelly Roll Morton. This platinum ring with 1.3 carats of hypnotic French cut and cabochon sapphires is a prime example of the cool style of the Jazz Age.
