About the Item
This poetic and simple signet ring has the intaglio of a swallow with wings spread mid-flight. The image of a swallow is rich with symbolism, as swallows are known to return to their nesting sights each year. Swallows also played a role in maritime tradition, as sailors would know they were close to land when they spotted a swallow flying above. Swallows came to represent the safe return from a long voyage, and people would give swallow jewelry to their loved ones as protection before a trip. They also represent hope, freedom, loyalty, and the arrival of spring. This beautiful signet ring would make a great talisman to bring you courage for a new journey.
The face of the ring measure 1/2” x 1/2”. The ring weighs 9.6 grams. It is marked for Birmingham, 1928, and with the maker’s mark KBSP for Kinsey Brothers
