ϟignet Ring, hand-made ca.1900s -1920s in solid 18K Gold featuring natural, banded / two-layered Sardonyx stone with hand-carved heraldic impalement Intaglio of two noble Families Coats of Arms under nobility Crown, most likely of husband and wife, separated by a line, the practice is known as impalement. "Three Roses " is a coat of the Swedish nobility family von Rosen, I could not identify the upper coat of arms. Unisex type ring, just adjust the size to fit your little finger. The body of the stone is black with a layer of light blue on its surface measuring 11 mm x 9 mm x 3,35 mm deep / ca. 5 ct. The back side is open. Bloodstone, Carnelian, Onyx, and Sardonyx are considered to be ideal mediums for the art of intaglio and relief carving. The hardness of these stones is Mohs scale of 6.5 - 7 which makes them perfect for everyday wear. This ring was made in Sweden, set of hallmarks,18K, date combination not present. The color of Gold is Yellow. In fine-used condition, the stone is well preserved and will make a fine impression on any soft matter. Size: Ø 3.5 US / 14.48 mm. It can be sized up and down. Gemstones may often look differently in different light and weather conditions and time of the day, both indoors and outdoors. Stones of the rings photographed alone may look a bit differently when on hand because your finger makes the back side of the stone closed and light no longer can go through and the color becomes different. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described. We will not be responsible if in the process of resizing or customization any stone on the ring becomes loose, if any deformation occurs in general or if band of the ring changes shape or becomes deformed.
