About the Item
The ring consists of a hard stone cameo dated to the 18th – 19th century, which is set in a yellow gold setting. The cameo features a profile portrait of a man, whose distinctive facial features are carefully highlighted, including an aquiline nose, a slightly frowned forehead, and finely described curly hair. The gold frame in which the cameo is set further enriches the ring: it is made up of engraved grooves that run along the stem, which connects to the upper part thanks to the addition of two crossed oak leaves, into which an acorn is inserted. The ring is in excellent conservative condition, and its high engraving quality is evident, which has allowed a detailed description of the male profile, which is extremely vivid and realistic.
