The oval panel carved with a the arms of the BATEMAN family of Middleton Hall and Lomberdale Hall, Youlgreave Derbyshire, to a curved gold surmount ring.

The arms of the BATEMAN family of Middleton Hall and Lomberdale Hall, Youlgreave Derbyshire. This family were originally descended from William BATEMAN of South Wingfield c1298. The arms were granted to in 1613 to Thomas BATEMAN of Wolfescote, Hartington Derbyshire. A later bookplate for Thomas BATEMAN of Middleton Hall (c1850), shows the same arms.
