The signet ring from the end of the 18th century is made of gilded silver, as demonstrated by sections of gilding still visible and features a peculiar engraving of a coat of arms attributable to a Russian noble family: in the centre two crossed leaf darts can be recognized, placed above a turreted element; in the upper part, however, there is a princely crown which indicates the degree of nobility of the family, while you can see further foliated elements that adorn and embellish the composition. It is difficult to understand with certainty who this ring may have belonged to, although the presence of two juxtaposed darts cannot exclude that the coat of arms refers to a family coming from Poland, which at the time had been partly annexed to Russia, and in which the dart was often used as a decorative element for noble coats of arms.
