About the Item
High quality 18K yellow gold rhombus box design garnet signet ring by ABL.
The fine oval Rhodolite garnet signet stone shows hidden fire as the pavillion of the gem is facet cut and the gold setting is open at the back to allow light to reflect, enhancing the rich color. The substantial 18K gold setting has an unusual rhombus box motif, somewhat reminiscent of snake skin, which further complements the interior facet cut of the garnet.
Signet rings with a garnet gem are more uncommon and highly sought after. This classic ring style has been donned by men of influence for thousands of years. Traditionally associated with business and politics, today it has a timeless appeal for both men and women who want a beautiful ring and an interesting conversation piece.
Garnets have been revered for centuries, historically cherished as amulets by the Egyptians, Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Medieval warriors and mystics for their protective properties. The gemstone is associated with inner fire, vitality, love, friendship and the heart. Kings and Queens have worn garnets- King Solomon, Mary, Queen of Scotts and Queen Victoria purportedly wore the gem for protection.
