An antique diamond, and yellow gold ring, set with one old cut diamond, set in 18 karat yellow gold, to an 18 karat yellow gold band.
This lovely Edwardian ring is set to the centre with a beautiful, sparkling, old cut diamond. The old cut diamond is bright, white, and sparkly, with great clarity and colour. The diamond is held within claws, in a belcher or buttercup setting. It is thought belcher rings got their name from Thomas Belcher, a boxer who used such a ring to fasten his scarf. The lovely design of the shoulders draws your eye to the stunning diamond. The chunky shoulders lead to a plain, polished yellow gold. The ring is in great condition, with a small amount of wear to the bottom of the setting from wear with another ring. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
