About the Item
A poignant relic of love and remembrance, this extraordinary mourning ring features a finely crafted Tree of Life—formed from macerated hair and set beneath a luminous domed rock crystal. To the side, the initials M.H. are delicately worked into the design, offering a deeply personal tribute to a life once cherished.
The symbolic centerpiece dates to the late Georgian era, circa 1830, a time when mourning jewelry served as both a keepsake and an intimate expression of loss and memory. The tree, with its branching form, speaks to continuity, family, and the eternal cycle of life and death.
Set in a warm 18k gold bezel, the original face has been preserved with exceptional care. The 14k gold band is a tasteful later replacement, ensuring durability and continued wearability while maintaining historical integrity.
