An early 20th Century ruby and diamond three stone ring, the central cabochon-cut ruby weighing 1.72 carats, accompanied by GCS Report stating to be of Burmese origin with no indication of heating, flanked by two old brilliant-cut diamonds weighing 1.28 carats in total, all claw set to a gold mount with tapering shoulders, marked 18ct, circa 1910, head measuring 0.7x1.6cm, gross weight 2.85 grams. This ring is in very good condition.
This elegant three stone ring comes from the collection of Bentley
Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. It features a central pigeon’s blood red cabochon cut ruby flanked by two dazzling diamonds that complement the central stone wonderfully. The cabochon cut is one of the oldest stone cutting techniques, and cabochon cuts were popular in jewellery of the ancient world and the medieval and Tudor eras. This ring would make a wonderful engagement ring for a discerning bride.
