About the Item
Natural Colombian Emerald and diamond three stone Ring
This Colombian emerald has a beautiful combination of color and tone. The emerald is 70% primary green color with a medium intense 70 tone.
Mounted in Platinum with a design from the 40¨s to the 50´s decade an Eternal Colombian Emerald, approx. 1.80 carats, GIA certified as no fissures present, F1 (minor oiled) and Colombian origin; 2 Old cut Diamonds weighing approx. 2.15 carats and 14 bright-white and sparkling old mine-cut diamonds surrounded weighing 1.55 carats. Total diamond weight 3.70 carats.
Set to centre with a octagonal step cut natural bright green Colombian emerald with in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.80 carats, set to either side with two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with an approximate total weight of 2.15 carats, to a graduating three stone design with pierced ornate collets, open back holing and flanked by raised shoulders supported by cheniers and scrolls. Tested platinum.

If a stone is graded as displaying "No oil" they are very rare treasures (these stones are so rare that is estimated they constitute a mere 0.5% of the market and command premiums of 1-200% over similar looking but slightly treated stones), if "Minor" indications of clarity enhancement, prices could range from $14,000 to $18,000 USD per carat. If it belongs to the "Moderate" category, the value varies from $6000 – $10,000 per carat. Finally, an emerald displaying ‘significant’ indications of treatment could be worth from nothing to $4000 per carat. These prices are only a rough guide, though, as there is a multitude of other factors that affect pricing.
