About the Item
This 1.55-carat oval Tanzanian sapphire has a deep, saturated color that moves between dark green and teal depending on the light. The stone has real depth to it, holding color even as your eye moves toward the center. Unheated and natural, this is the color it formed with.
Two round brilliant diamonds (0.36 carats total) flank the sapphire, their bright sparkle providing sharp contrast to the darker center stone. The interplay works well here, each stone making the other more visible.
At Ursula Rickmers Jewelry, we set this ring in 18k rose gold. Six prongs secure the sapphire, and from the side, the setting reveals an open gallery with graceful curved supports that cradle the stone while allowing light to enter from below. The band has a knife-edge profile that tapers toward the stones. The warmth of the rose gold draws out subtle undertones in the sapphire while softening the overall effect.
The ring is handcrafted in our Istanbul atelier, steps from the Grand Bazaar, where jewelers have been refining their craft for centuries.
