About the Item
This 1.17-carat round Tanzanian sapphire leans heavily toward green, with teal undertones that reveal themselves depending on the light. The color is saturated and deep, with a richness that gives the stone weight. Unheated and natural, this is the color it came out of the earth with.
Two pear-shaped white diamonds (0.15 carats total) flank the sapphire, their points facing outward. The bright sparkle of the side stones draws out the depth of the green center, each making the other more visible.
At Ursula Rickmers Jewelry, we set this ring in 18k yellow gold. The band has a knife-edge profile that tapers toward the stones, and from the side, the setting reveals an open basket with curved supports that cradle the sapphire while allowing light to enter from below. Four prongs secure the center stone, while the pear diamonds are held by three prongs each. The warmth of the gold amplifies the green tones in the sapphire.
The ring is handcrafted in our Istanbul atelier, steps from the Grand Bazaar, where jewelers have been refining their craft for centuries.
Tanzanian sapphires with this particular depth of green are not common, and this stone, with its specific hue and saturation, won't be replicated. Whether worn as an alternative engagement ring or chosen for your own reasons, this three-stone sapphire ring offers color with substance.
