A fine Scottish quaich. In sterling silver. Smithed by Robert Sawers of Edinburgh in 1901. The quaich is a 2-handed drinking cup or bowl that was traditionally used to drink whiskey or brandy. Simply a wonderful piece of Scottish silver! Date: 1901 Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: The quaich is slightly out of round with an indentation to the rim, some light edge wear, and some very fine light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Robert Sawers Marks: Hallmarked to the side for RS for the maker, thistle for Scotland, castles for Edinburgh, and E for 1910. Measurements: Diameter: ca. 5 1/2 in. Height: ca. 1 1/4 in.
