Soft, rounded lines, handles with plant decoration. The lids of the teapot and coffee pot are hinged.
Enrico Goretta (Alexandria,1915-1999). In 1947 he established his company with headquarters in Alexandria, first in Corso Lamarmora and then, from 1961, in Via Pisacane, where it remained until 2005, when it closed. He trained at the school of the Martini family, (chiselers from Como who moved to Alexandria, at the time a city of prominence in silver work), and graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Monza, with a Lion of St. Mark executed in full-round embossing, now in the Buenos Aires Museum. He is a friend of Carlo Carrà and Pietro Morando, and frequents prestigious artists and art critics, such as Longhi, Sassu, Moore, Dazzi, Lorenzetti, and Funi. His real passion is for artistic artifacts; he is a master of chiseling and embossing, but he also applies his philosophy as a great craftsman and artist to the objects he produces in his company that are sold all over the world: elegant tableware, mugs with fine wood handles, chiseled boxes, refined trays with decorated edges, champagne buckets.
