Antique Silver Figural Pheasants, German, Circa 1900

About the Item
The pheasants are extraordinarily life-like in appearance and have been expertly captured in mid-stride, their skillfully crafted clawed feet seeming to propel them onwards.
Both the male and female birds have exquisitely detailed facial features and meticulously cast and engraved feathers all over their bodies, culminating in elegantly elongated tails.
Their hinged wings are all fully reticulated. These beautiful birds are in excellent condition and have a lovely patina.
A set of German hallmarks is stamped at the side of each bird’s tail.
These are truly top quality figural pheasants and would be the ideal additions to any traditional home. The larger of the pair measures approx. 21 1/2" from beak to the tip of the tail, the smaller is approx. 19 3/4".
The heights are approx. 7" and 8" respectively.
The weight is a total of 43 troy ounces.
