About the Item
A fine set of antique English silver plated desert spoons or shovels.

Co.
Each spoon with a shovel shaped bowl, a figural handle in the shape of an oak branch with acorns and oak leaves, and a finial in the shape of the English Royal Coat of Arms. The coat of arms is flanked by a lion and eagle. The backsides of the lion and eagle are also visible verso.
Signed and dated for 1856.
Each bowl bears a script monogram.
Simply a wonderful ornate set of English flatware!

They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
Each bears a monogram to the bowl. There is some light edge wear and a few tiny spots of persistent tarnish throughout. Otherwise, there are some fine
light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.

The teaspoons are of a most unusual design and are modeled in the Hanoverian style. The shaped stems display a raised bearded male mask surrounded by Rococo shell and scroll details.
