About the Item

A Fabergé round cut glass silver dish, silver laurel wreath and bow handles, fluted silver rim with a cross relief on either side, the circumference of glass with alternate star and grid motifs, bottom engraved with a radiating star, overall measurements 13 x13 x3 cm, gross weight 313 grams, bearing the sponsor marks for Faberge, Moscow 1899-1908. This lovely little dish was made by Fabergé and comes from the collection of Bentley Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. Fabergé was established in St Petersburg in 1842, and by the late nineteenth century, was Russia’s largest and best-known jewellery house. The house has become known for their royal commissions and their close ties to the family of Tsar Nicholas II. This dish is made from detailed cut glass with star motifs. The rim and handles are delicately made from silver, which is also decorated with detailed motifs. This wonderful dish reflects the early twentieth craftsmanship of Fabergé. Should you choose to make this purchase we would be delighted to send it to you in a specially designed Bentley Skinner handmade fitted wooden case packed in a gift-wrapped Bentley Skinner black and gold presentation box. Shortly afterwards we will send you on a valuation for insurance purposes for your reference and safekeeping.
