Antique sterling silver with gold wash interior cup by Elder
Co of Edinburgh, Scotland, circa 1832.
Barrel like design cup/mug featuring a delicately curved handle with leaf design at top. Gold washed interior. Etched detail of a hand holding a star card. No monogram.
Measures approx 2 3/4" high to the rim, 3 1/4" high to the top of the handle, 2 3/8" diameter, 3 3/4" wide from the end of the handle to the other side of the rim.
Weighs approx 128.5g, 82.6dwt.
Marked E&CO (Elder
Co makers mark) 3 castles (city mark for Edinburgh) thistle (sterling silver hallmark) A (date mark for 1832)
Very nice condition with some slight surface scratching and tarnish. Dent on bottom at the side.
Will come packaged in a gift box or pouch when possible, and will be shipped US Priority Mail with insurance.
