as it’s a fascinating piece of the early XX century history of England
G
J.W. Hawksley was a manufacturing firm based in Sheffield, England,
recognized for producing powder flasks and gun loading tools,
especially prominent in the mid-1800s.
It was founded by brothers George and John William Hawksley.
Of rounded rectangular form,
(the shape is slightly curved to give a good fit
to the body when in a pocket), the flask is leather covered
top mounted with a hinged lid.

Retailed by Harrods, London.
The flask is further engraved with the initials “R.B.” –
for Sir Richard Burbridge who was a chairman of Harrods,
