About the Item

A very fine antique English silver plated vase and cover. In the 18th century Neoclassical Sheffield style. The vase has ram's head and loop handles, etched acanthus leaf design around its circumference, and is supported by a square base. The cover has etched designs and an urn shaped finial. Simply a terrific piece! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. There are some small spots of corrosion and losses of silver, some over-polishing through to the silver, a monogram to the top, and some very fine light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Engraved: With a PD inscription to top Marks: Stamped with a cross or star-burst maker's mark England Measurements: Height: ca. 10 3/4 in. Width: ca. 5 1/2 in. Depth: ca. 4 1/2 in.
