About the Item
Dent. A Heavy 18ct Yellow Gold Open Face Keyless Lever Pocket Watch C1890
Dial: The beautiful cream coloured dial fully signed Dent 33 Cockspur St London with Arabic numerals outer minute ring and subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock. The elegant matching blued steel spade hands and blued steel seconds hand complimenting the dial exquisitely.
Case: The superbly made heavy 18ct gold case with a small crest on the back cover. The inner cover has a presentation incription dated March 1890 to the ending of the Mastership of the Aldenham Harriers which were a hunting group based in Hertfordshire. The case is English hallmarked for 1890. The case maker was Emil Nielsen suggesting that the movement was made by Nicole Nielsen.
Movement: This excellent three quarter plate movement numbered and signed Dent Watchmaker to the Queen. The fully jewelled movement with screwed in chatons to the centre abor with compensation balance blued overcoil hairspring and micrometer regulation.
This pocket watch is an excellent example of English craftsmanship at it's finest. Dent along with Charles Frodsham and Nicole Nielsen being the leading watchmakers of their time. This watch would make a wonderful addition to one's collection
