Des Granges Late Recordon. A Rare 18ct Rose Gold Keywind Duplex Quarter Repeater Pocket Watch C1818 Dial: A superb 18ct gold dial with raised Roman gold numerals outer dotted minute track and engine turned centre. The original blued steel Breguet moon hands complimenting the dial beautifully. Case: The excellent heavy rose gold case English hallmarked for London 1818 with engine turned back cover. The inner cover numbered and signed Des Granges Late Recordon Cockspur Street Charing Cross London. The case maker was Thomas Hardy, a very famouse case maker of his time. The top of the pendant lifts up and turns then is depressed to make the watch chime. Movement: The gilt metal finished movement with a flat arm balance, slow fast regulation Duplex escapement hanging barrel and the wheels for the repeating works visible. The hammers and gongs are also visable. The watch chimes the hours and quarters clearly. This watch is indeed rare and important as it is double signed by Des Granges late Recordon who was the main agent in London for Abraham Louis Breguet. A Heavy 18ct Yellow Gold Automaton Quarter Repeater Keyless Lever Full Hunter Pocket Watch C1896 Dial: The white enamel dial with Roman Numerals and outer minute track. The centre of the dial has a blued steel background with two gold coloured Blacksmiths holding hammers resting on an anvil. The arms move up and down when the repeater mechanism is activated. The blued steel spade hand complementing the dial and the figures. Case: The heavy (120grms) 18ct yellow gold full hunter case. The front and back covers are both plain as is the inner cover. The case was made in 1896 having British hallmarks. The case maker was Thomas Newnham Bell, who worked out of 3 Spon street Coventry. The cases are all English hallmarked and numbered. The repeater slide is located at one'oclock and the hand set device is located between four and five by the inner bezel. Movement: The unsigned high quality nickel finished three quarter plate keyless lever movement with compensation balance blued steel hairspring and fast slow regulation. The gongs are visible but the hammers are not. The watch chimes the hour and quarters clearly. The watch has been recently fully serviced. This is a super example of English and Swiss co-operation in producing a finely crafted automaton Pocket watch...

A. Huguenin & Sons. An 18ct Yellow Gold Full Hunter Keyless Lever Calendar Quarter Repeater Pocket Watch C1890 Dial: The magnificent original silver dial, signed A. Huguenin & Sons Locle with raised three coloured foliage to the dial with Roman numerals outer silver dot minute track. with aperture for the month at twelve o'clock, subsidiary dials for the day at nine o'clock the date at three o'clock and the moon phase with the subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock. The hands are all original in blued steel Case: The beautifully engraved heavy 18ct yellow gold case with the front cover covered with a garland of flowers, foliage and a vacant cartouche. The back cover is again richly engraved with garlands of flowers and foliage with the oval cartouche engraved with a bird sitting on a nest with eggs. The inner gold cover is engraved Cronometro, the serial number and A. Huguenin & Sons Locle with an engine turned surround. The repeater slide is on the side of the case. The cases are all Swiss Hallmarked and numbered. Thomas Higgart. A Fine Early Champleve Dial Silver Pair Case Verge Pocket Watch with it's Steel Crank Key. C1740. Dial: The beautiful silver champleve dial engraved out of a piece of silver, with Roman numerals filled with black enamel, outer engraved minute ring with engraved Arabic numerals at five minute intervals, all inlaid with black enamel. The dial also has raised cartouches in between the Roman numerals. The centre of the dial has been engraved Higgat London with a garland of flowers. The watch has it's original blued steel Beetle and Poker hands, which have survived over the centuries. The hands are set by putting the key on the centre abor and turning . Case: The fine silver pair case with the outer case being plain and the inner case also being plain with the winding hole to the back of the inner case. The inner case is stamped with the case maker mark of P.D which I believe to be Peter Desvignes, who worked from premises at 221 Piccadilly London. Movement: The excellent condition verge fusee movement which comes out of the front of the watch has a large beautifully hand engraved cock with garlands of flowers. The movement is numbered and signed Thos Higgat London. with the small silver dial to regulate the watch. The watch has a verge escapement with fine baluster pillars supporting the plates. This pocket watch is a very fine and rare example, because of it's condition of an early 18th Century...
