Longines. A Rare 18ct Rose Gold Split Second Keyless Lever Open Face Pocket Watch C1900.
Dial: The beautiful white enamel dial signed by the Swiss Retailer Oscar Fresard Lucerne. The Arabic hour numerals with outer minute track with Red Arabic minute numerals at five minute intervals. The subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock with unusual red Arabic numerals at five second intervals. The minute recorder dial at twelve o'clock again with rare red Arabic numeral and rare three minute intervals. Most dials have five minute intervals. The gold coloured hands with a blued steel seconds hand and identical matching blued steel split second hands. All complimenting the dial beautifully. The dial is covered by a mineral glass.
Case: The elegant 18ct rose gold consular case with plain back, opening to reveal the inner cover. The inner cover is beautifully signed Oscar Fresard Lucerne, Longines Grand Prix Paris 1900 Chronographe - Compteur, Rattrapante with the medals of Honour won by Longines. The cases are signed Longines numbered and Swiss hallmarked. The button at 11 o'clock is for splitting the second.
Movement: The superb 18 jewel movement with the highly polished steel Chronographe split second works visible on the backplate, micrometer regulation, compensation balance and blued steel hair spring. The movement is numbered.
Split Second watches are rare to find made by Longines. This pocket watch is in amazing condition considering how old the watch is. This pocket watch represents the true craftsmanship of Swiss watchmaking and also at a time when Longines was riding the crest of the wave, competing with the like of Patek and Vacheron. This pocket watch would make a fine addition to ones collection. We sell this watch with a one year guarantee and our own certificate of authenticity.

Dial: A perfect white enamel Roman numeral dial with outer minute track and subsidiary seconds dial with blued steel spade hands and blued steel seconds hand.
Case: The heavy Swiss hallmarked 18ct yellow Gold case with monogram to front cover and dated 23rd April 1900. The back cover is plain as is the inner cuvette. All cases are numbered and hallmarked. The push button to make the watch chime is to the side of the case.
Movement: The beautifully signed movement by Baume, which is fully jewelled has compensated balance and tourbillion style bridge which is a very unusual layout for a minute repeater. The highly polished fly wheel which is visible on the top plate together with the polished hammers to the side.
