Constantin. A Very Rare and Historically Important Aluminium Presentation Pocket Watch C1953
Dial: The original elegant silver dial signed Vacheron
Constantin Geneve with silver Breguet style raised numerals outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock and with matching silver Breguet moon hands with silver second hand.
Case: The super light Aluminium three piece case with historical inscription " To the President of Haiti General Paul Eugene Magloire On His Visit to the United States January 1955 " The single case back opens to reveal the movement. The case is fully signed and numbered.
Movement: The superb light Aluminium plate keyless lever movement, fully jewelled to the centre Abor with micrometer regulation, blued steel overcoil hairspring with gold coloured wheel train. The movement is fully signed with calibre number and showing that there are 17 jewels in the movement. The initials VXN are stamped on the movement indicating that the watch was made for the American Market
This pocket watch is Historical and rare in so far that it is made of Aluminium which was more expensive per gram that gold in those days and historically it was a watch given by the President of the USA Dwight D Eisenhower upon General Magloire State visit from January 26 to February 6 1955. This was the one and only state visit by a Haitian President. The watch comes with an Extract of Archives from Vacheron stating that the watch was manufactured in 1953. This watch would make a fine addition to one's collection.

Case: The heavy 18ct yellow gold case with polished case back, hand set at eleven o'clock opening to reveal the inner case back which is engraved Vacheron & Constantin Genève Specially made for a retailer Martin Halbkram in Vienna. The cases are all Swiss hallmarked, numbered and signed.
Movement: The keyless lever gilt metal movement fully signed and jewelled with unusual regulation for the slow fast set. compensation balance and Breguet overcoil hairspring.
