If unfamiliar, I have placed additional details below. During this timeframe, Longines had just assisted the west's military with the some of the most important timekeeping wristwatches as instruments used by aviators and pilots who ordered Longines chronograph wristwatches for their pilots. The Swiss watch manufacturers reputation was at its height as one of the leading watchmakers of their period as so many pilots relied on their accuracy to win the war. As the brand moved into the Post world war two era like many other leading brands, Longines sought to introduce a more dressy, higher fashion timepiece experimenting with ultra thin movement technology and uniquely shaped case designs as the design shifted towards the more well known round shaped wristwatch concept which society is so familiar with today. As a means to set the brand apart, leading brands attempted to introduce very unique limited series designs in never before seen wristwatch shapes such as the present example exhibits to produce highly stylish mens wristwatches which could be worn as a dress watch to any type of event day or night and with any type of attire. The present example which is in perfect working condition has also been recently serviced and is an example of such a timepieces design and bares the legendary 1942 longines winged logo on the locking clasp which is only found on examples of this period design from 1942 to 1954. Also, probably the most interesting element of the piece to note is the case design which has a rounded face but Tourneau Florentine textured shaped bezel for extra style making it extremely unique with obvious attention to detail throughout and iconic for the period as a result, by one of the most legendary brands which has been around since 1832 . The dial is also extremely attractive not only because it is in near perfect condition, but because it is designed with a dark grey satin finish giving it an extra sheen as light interacts and reflects with it and is further accented with a factory diamond set numerals. The combination of a large satin finish dial that reacts beautifully with different hues of grey and silvers as light hits it on the larger 35mm face and diamonds as numerals makes this piece notably different and very fashion forward as an accessory on the wrist which can be worn exactly as it was intended, day or night and with cocktail attire or casual dress. Additionally interesting to note, the perfect condition woven textured bracelet has another unique design element it is completely adjustable fitting all wrist sizes up to 210mm and as little as 150mm , the user can slide the strap through the buckle and this specialized design locks in place at the adjusted size its users prefer. This design was also implemented for a short time frame and is one of the most iconic clasp mechanisms of only this timeframe as it was seldomly implemented there after adding extra allure to have in ones collection.
