Benrus Watch Company is an American Watch House founded by the Lazerus Brothers. Ben, one of the brothers was the first part of the name. They produced high quality watches, mostly made in Switzerland but with an American factory and offices as well. These watches are very dependable and easy to service and keep excellent time. The design is based on one of Cartier's earliest styles, called the Tortue because it is the shape of a tortoise. Cartier was inspired by giant tortoises he found at the base of giant columns in ancient Greek temples.
