Marcus and Company was a premier American jewelry firm founded in the late 1800's. They sold their prestigious house to Gimbels Department Store in the early 1940's within a few years of the production of this watch, The Venus 150 Caliber Movement was introduced in 1938. This impressive two register chronograph is in exceptional condition and was designed with an early waterproof style case. Don't go swimming with it though. The engine turned dial is set up as a Drs. pulsation meter. Just find your pulse and count thirty beats and read the outer register which will tell you your heart rate.
