About the Item
In 2021, Artisans de Genève collaborated with film director Spike Lee to create a personal, handcrafted interpretation of the Rolex Daytona, named “Cool Hand Brooklyn”. The piece is based on a Rolex Daytona 116520, entirely reworked according to the director’s specifications: a skeletonised dial and movement with sandblasted, hand-finished bridges, and details inspired by his unmistakable New York identity. The signature colours “Bitter Orange” and “Lee Blue” appear throughout the sub-dials, the inner minute track, and the tachymeter bezel, which draws inspiration from rare historical hand-wound Rolex Daytona models.
The result is an elegant yet vibrant chronograph, fusing Swiss mechanical precision with Spike Lee’s creative charisma.
Although not an official collaboration with Rolex, it is a bespoke, hand-crafted customisation produced in an extremely limited run.
