This classic Art Deco Watch was produced by the iconic America house of Waltham, founded in the mid 1800's.
They produced some of the worlds finest railroad watches of exceptional accuracy. This piece is a rare example of the classic Art Deco era. We have only seen a few examples of this model in the last 50 years. This watch has been in a vault for nearly 50 years and included with the purchase is a factory quality service by our finest watchmaker. This means you will not need to service it again for many years.
The tortue, meaning tortoise was an original design by Louis Cartier. He based it on stylized tortoise he saw in a Greek Temple 3000 years old. The tortue is still in the Cartier line today.
