A rare and historically weighted masterpiece — this 1997 OMAS Return to the Motherland fountain pen was created to honor the handover of Hong Kong from British to Chinese governance, marking one of the most significant geopolitical transitions of the 20th century. Only 200 examples were produced worldwide, each individually numbered. This piece is No. 063/200, preserved in mint, uninked condition, and complete with every original component.
Crafted entirely in 18 karat gold and weighing an impressive 123 grams, the pen is sculpted in deep high-relief — a tactile narrative rendered directly into precious metal.

Pierre Chapo est né dans le 19e arrondissement de Paris, mais en 1937 la famille s'installe à Vierzon, dans le Cher, le jeune homme s'essaie à la peinture. Puis rencontre en 1947 un charpentier de marine; dans son atelier il découvre le travail du bois, et décide de s'inscrire à l'École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, section architecture avec Henri Larrieu et Louis Aublet. Les études sont entrecoupées de voyages vers les pays scandinaves, du service militaire en Allemagne, ainsi que d'un périple d'un an en Amérique centrale et un stage dans un cabinet d'architectes en Arizona.
De retour en France, Pierre Chapo poursuit le travail du bois essentiellement le chêne, le frêne et l'orme massif qu'il articule avec le double intérêt qu'il porte au design contemporain et au savoir-faire de l'artisanat traditionnel. Après quelques années, il ouvre une galerie boulevard de l'Hôpital, où il expose ses réalisations ainsi que celles d'autres créateurs comme Isamu Noguchi avec lequel il partage une approche sculpturale et organique, il reçoit ses premières commandes parmi lesquelles un lit simple demandé par Samuel Beckett. En 1960, lors de l'exposition Arts et techniques de l'artisanat, son travail est reconnu par la ville de Paris dont il reçoit la Médaille d'or.
Puis c'est le développement de l'atelier de fabrication de meubles, à Clamart et la participation à plusieurs projets avec des fabricants et des aménagements avec différents architectes-maitres d’œuvre dont le travail de certains comme Charlotte Perriand pour la station des Arcs l’influencera6 et dont il éditera plus tard une table basse. En 1967, il expose au Salon des artistes décorateurs et remporte la Médaille de bronze de la Société d'encouragement à l'art et à l'industrie9. Cette même année, il s'installe à Gordes et y crée sa société et son usine qui vend et fabrique les meubles audacieux et robustes, en bois massif qu'il dessine, tout en conservant l'atelier de Clamart et la boutique de Paris, étendant son réseau avec des dépositaires à Bruxelles et dans plusieurs villes de France...

This very stylishly handcrafted fixture dates back to the 1960s and its design is truly remarkable. The shade itself is created from eight thick layers of brass and the design is very well balanced. Due to the different size of each layer, the light is able to radiate through in various directions, which creates a beautiful atmospheric effect. One that truly is a joy to look at. The design and the material used really make these lights works of art and pendant lights into one. These chandeliers are in good condition and the patina is simply wonderful. Designed in 1974 by the renowned Italian duo Afra
Tobia Scarpa for Molteni, the Monk chair is one of the most iconic seating designs of the period. This complete set of six early examples demonstrates the Scarpas’ architectural approach to form, material and structure.
Each chair features a thick saddle-leather seat and back that wraps over the frame and is secured with exposed metal hardware—one of the defining aesthetic signatures of the Monk series. The original cognac leather shows a beautiful, authentic patina, with natural colour variations and characterful ageing that only decades of careful use can produce.
The frames are made from solid walnut wood, displaying a fantastic patina and rich grain that pairs perfectly with the warm tones of the leather. The walnut construction gives the chairs their monolithic, grounded presence while maintaining the refined minimalism typical of Scarpa’s work. Both sculptural and functional, these chairs suit a wide range of interiors—from contemporary architectural spaces to classic vintage settings.
A matching set of six Monk chairs in original leather with walnut frames has become increasingly rare on the market.
