"Silent Reality Everywhere" Print 53" × 40" inch Ed. 1/10 by Kate Garner
By Kate Garner
Located in Culver City, CA
"Silent Reality Everywhere" Print 53" × 40" inch Ed. 1/10 by Kate Garner Signed and numbered by the artist. Not framed. Ships in a tube. Kate Garner is an English photographer, fine artist, and singer. Garner has photographed a wide range of musicians and celebrities, including Dr. Dre, Leigh Bowery, JT LeRoy, Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, David Bowie, Cameron Diaz, PJ Harvey, John Galliano, Björk, and Kate Moss. Her work has appeared in the American and British versions of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar as well as W magazine, Interview, GQ, Vanity Fair, Elle, and The Sunday Times. Kate Garner was expelled from high school at the age of 16 and became a runaway who joined The Children Of God. To escape the grasp of the cult she hitchhiked from London through Eastern Europe to India in 1970, where she lived for a year as a traveler before being located by her parents. She attended art school at Blackpool in the North of England and later moved to London, where she began to both photograph and model for up-and-coming magazines such as The Face and i-D. Kate Garner first came widely into the public eye as one-third of the 1980s avant-garde, new wave pop project Haysi Fantayzee, along with other members Jeremy Healy and Paul Caplin. Emanating from street art scenes such as the Blitz Kids that were cropping up in London in the early 1980s, Haysi’s music combined reggae, country, and electro with political and sociological lyrics couched as nursery rhymes. Catapulted to stardom by their visual sensibilities, Haysi Fantayzee combined their extreme clothes sense – described as combining white Rasta, tribal chieftain, and Dickensian styles – with a quirky musical sound comparable to other new wave musical pop acts of the era, such as Bow Wow Wow...

By Simon Avissar
Located in Soquel, CA
The Faceless, Unforgettable Three - Modernist Color Lithograph (5/100) Three faceless figures, created by Simon Avissar (Israeli, 1938-2020), in a cool, muted color palette of purple and teal, layered against a speckled background with a sense of light surrounding them. Presented in a new taupe-colored mat. Mat size: 30"H x 24"W Paper size: 25.5"H x 19"W Avissar, Simon (Israeli, 1938-2020) is a Postwar & Contemporary painter born in Casablanca. As a tireless nomad, he exhibited for the first time in 1961, in Jaffa, where he lived and worked for some time. He then moved to Paris, settling into a studio in Montparnasse and began with an exhibition of his work at the Galerie Charpentier in 1964, and after exhibited at Abel Rambert, the Galerie de l’Elysée, and the Galerie Bénézit in the 14 years he lived there. He then moved to the United States, including Washington, New York, and Lose Angeles, while continuing to travel to South America, Australia, and South Africa, exhibiting in many places he visited. Aerial V
By Janet Jones
Located in San Francisco, CA
This artwork, titled "Aerial V" c.1980 is a monotype with chine colle and embossing on heavy paper by noted Canadian artist Janet Jones b.1952. It is hand signed and titled in pencil by the artist. It is numbered “1/1-2”. I believe this indicates the artist did 2 impressions of the monotype, and that they are not identical. There are three levels of paper. The printed part with a plate that measures 8 x 8 inches (9x9 inches the sheet) is on thin Japon paper. It is mounted to another thin pastel colored sheet measuring 12 x 12 inches. This, in turn, is mounted to heavy paper similar to Arches measuring 22.25 x 18 inches It is in very good condition with some faint rippling on the left and right edges, and has never been framed. About the artist: Janet Jones was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1952. She received her BFA in painting and photography from Concordia University - studying painting with Guido Molinari and Yves Gaucher, and photography with the experimental photographer Suzanne Swibold. Janet Jones is currently a Toronto based painter whose work has been exhibited across Canada, in Los Angeles, New York, England, Germany, France and China. Her recent projects include; the solo exhibition, The Dream Machine at Patrick Mikhail Gallery, Montréal (2017), two solo exhibitions, Playtimes (2015) and Joyride (2012) both at Katzman Contemporary Toronto, a national touring exhibition of her paintings, DaDa Delirium, with an accompanying catalogue (2011) with essays by Stuart Reid, Nell Tenhaaf and an interview with the artist by Georgiana Uhlyarik, and participation in the Empire of Dreams exhibition, MOCCA (Summer 2010) curated by David Liss. Jones has been a visiting artist in France, England, Russia, China, the Netherlands, and Cuba. Jones received her MFA from York University and her PhD from New York University in the area of art theory and criticism. Her dissertation titled: Clement Greenberg and the Artist /Critic Relationship, included interviews with Clement Greenberg, Jules Olitski, and other members of the ‘Greenberg Group’ and research gained through accompanying Greenberg on numerous studio visits.
