Art Deco French Enameled Silver Desk Clock
Located in Hamilton, Ontario
This enameled silver desk clock is unsigned, so a specific maker cannot be identified, but the case was made in France, and the movement in Switzerland in the period and style of Art Deco. The silver content of the case has not been tested, but is believed to be Continental or .800 or just under .925 sterling, The front of the clock is ornately enameled with raised bright red flowers on each corner with contrasting black and red geometric panels with green accents, which are duplicated on the sides. The hinged back opens to gain access to the winding mechanism and the high grade Swiss movement has been professionally serviced and works well. Although barely visible, the clock is stamped on the bottom with a French...

Vintage Carved Wood and Poly Chrome Painted Figural Musical Clock Figurine
Located in Hamilton, Ontario
This vintage hand carved and hand painted musical clock is unsigned, but presumed to have been made in or near Austria in circa 1950 in a Folk Art style. The carving depicts a male figure leaning against a post mounted Black Forest styled clock. The carving is quite detailed and well executed on all sides and has been hand painted in a realistic style. Both the clock and the music box are currently not working as both have been over-wound and would require servicing. The head of the carving should turn slightly left to right while the music box is playing, but in its current state it is unknown whether the mechanism functions and/or what tune the music box may play. In addition, there is currently no key for the clock, but these normally use a standard small music box...

20th Century Congreve Rolling Ball Clock
Located in Vancouver, British Columbia
The clock is made of heavy solid brass and sits on a glass covered mahogany base. The time is shown on 3 separated porcelain dials - second, minute, and hour. The clock is driven by a double spring movement. A small steel ball rolls back and forth on the lower platform with a zigzag track. When the ball reaches the end of the track, it triggers a lever and the platform then tilts so that the steel ball starts to roll back down to the other end of the platform. It takes the steel ball roughly 12 seconds to roll from one side to the other. This type of 'mystery' clock was invented by Sir William Congreve...
