Charles Thomas Bale was born in Soho, London in 1849, the son of Thomas Bale, a basket maker. His older brother Thomas Charles Bale (1831-1899) was an artist and picture restorer. He lived with his family in St James, Westminster and although little is known about his education, he would have undoubtedly received encouragement and drawing tuition from his brother. Bale started exhibiting in 1866 at the Institute of British Artists, Suffolk Street. He also exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1872, the same year he married Caroline Leathem. Together, they spent their married life in St Pancras. He specialized in still life paintings predominantly of fruit, but he frequently incorporated baskets, a homage to his family’s profession, as well as pottery, glass, and game. Moroney was born on the 14th of February 1949 in South London. Of Anglo Irish parentage, his father was typical of his generation and worried about Ken’s artistic temperament which he viewed as effeminate. As a result, Ken took up boxing and won a gold medal for South London in his teens. His art continued to flourish with his trademark striking use of color. His main medium oils and he favors romantic subjects of Edwardian times. Ken has traveled extensively and spent 2 years working for major galleries in New York. The Royal Academy nominated him in 1976 as being one of the few promising young artists to emerge this century: "Ken Moroney has considerable talent, any painting purchased now can only be seen as a sound long term investment."
Ken Moroney's work now hangs in many important collections and has had paintings exhibited at The Royal Academy (London), and the Kline Galleries (Canada).

Peter has an absolute love of oil painting and especially admires the masters of Dutch Painting of the 17th Century, which is reflected in his own work. Since 1995, after seeing the work of Estonian artist Olav Maran, Peter decided to review his paintings and started researching ‘Still Life’ painters such as Willem Kalf and De Heem. After experimenting with priming his own panels and canvases with different colours, then painting with thick and thin paint and glazing on top, in the way of the old masters, he has developed a style with detail and atmosphere that is essential in his portrayal of fine wine, fruit and cheeses etc.
In a quirky and sometimes conceptual world, Peter makes no apologies for producing traditional subjects where the craftsmanship is evident in every brushstroke. His paintings bring much joy and pleasure to those who understand he has an obvious and underlying love of handling paint and observing his subject using techniques that take many years to acquire. Spencer is the son of Richard Ball Spencer (1812-1897), also a well-renowned marine artist. Old minor tears having old repairs done remarkably well. Not noticeable at all from the front view.

William Ball Spencer was born on 22 June 1854 in Stepney and was baptised at St Thomas’s Church on 30 July of the same year. On 12 October 1873, he married Fanny Wardill at Trinity Church, Stepney. She was 20 years old and the daughter of Jonathan Wardill, a civil engineer.
According to the 1881 census, William, then aged 27, was living at 8 High Street, Poplar, listed as a marine artist. Residing with him were his wife Fanny (also 27, born in Stepney), their four sons—aged between seven years and five months—and their 16-year-old servant, Charles C. Seward, born in Sheerness. Seward is recorded as a “Shop boy to Artist,” suggesting that William not only produced artwork but also operated a commercial studio or shop, likely selling original paintings, prints, and related items.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Richard Ball Spencer (1812–1897), also a painter, William specialized primarily in broadside ship portraits rendered in a similar stylistic manner. He occasionally painted other maritime scenes and was known to create copies of earlier naval battle paintings...

Using symmetry as a basis, Drakopoulos derives structure by combining elements from the natural world and science. Modifying these elements digitally, Drakopoulos distills into a pattern or shape, and then layers them with a different structure and repeats the process of layering paint in resin. She tries to find the most subtle and interesting way to connect the different layers that will reveal an underlying structure or system.
Slowly as the work evolves, these inner-connections and details begin to form and define the energy and invisible forces that govern the movement of matter, from the microcosmic level of molecules and light particles, to the macrocosmic of planets and galaxies. Drakopoulos views the cosmos as a primordial, all encompassing field within which the illusion of matter is created and dissolved. In this field, particles come together to create complex structures and matter evolves into its maximum state of order. This moment is temporary, a state of transition. The form will subsequently dissolve and the process will begin again. The central images that appear in her work describe this moment of emergence. They are not a representation of actual cosmic phenomena but rather an invented image of an inner mindscape. When attention is directed to the infinite vast field, which contains all of existence in potential, the holographic matrix of the universe is revealed, of which our consciousness is an interwoven part.
