I often check-in with my (out of state) parents; they are both retired and generally have kept themselves busy during this difficult time. I asked what they are doing for fun....My Dad said a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle was his vice of the week. I start thinking of puzzle pieces-- how they are connected and how each piece has a purpose to complete a picture. What is my purpose during this pandemic? To make art that points to something beyond ourselves, beyond isolation, beyond pandemics.
