Circa 1920s, Gilded Copper and Bronze, by Marie Zimmerman, American. This champagne cooler, or possibly vase, is an exceptional example of Marie Zimmerman's early work. Gilded in high karat deeply colored gold, the body is fabricated from hammered copper (a rare material for her) and the handles are bronze. The form is serene with bat motif handles in the Chinese taste. Very good condition.
