Antique Boule Ball "7", Pétanque, 1880s, France, Craftsmanship
Located in Greven, DE
Beautiful, unique Boule ball, France, late 19th Century. In the 19th century, the manufacture of boules balls underwent significant development in France as the game of boules, particularly the pétanque variant, gained in popularity. The manufacture of boules balls during this period was a manual process that required expertise, precision and love to detail. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly in rural areas of France and other Mediterranean regions, olive wood was a commonly used source of material for making boules balls. This was not only due to the availability of the material, but also to the outstanding properties of olive wood, which was characterized by hardness, strength and a rich grain. First, the olive wood was carefully selected and shaped into raw balls, which were then sanded to the desired size and shape. The nails were then hammered into the balls one by one, making sure that they were evenly distributed and firmly anchored. Finally, the spheres were polished and coated with a protective varnish to enhance their natural beauty and protect them from the elements. The use of nails to decorate and reinforce olive wood boules was a traditional practice that not only gave the ball a rustic aesthetic, but also improved its durability and contributed to customization. Many balls were made according to the specific requirements and preferences of the players. Nails were driven at regular intervals around the ball, with each nail hole precisely placed so as not to affect the balance and weight distribution of the ball. These nails not only served as a decorative element, but also helped to strengthen the structure of the ball and make it more resistant to the hard knocks and wear and tear during play. Individual engravings or decorations were often applied to the balls to make them unique and identify the player. Antique boules...

Frame Chestnut Hand-carved Unique For Diploma or College Border or Fon Mirror
Located in Mombuey, Zamora
It is a unique and very special piece. It is worth framing the diploma in any office or Desk, giving it a special status, far from the commercial framework, no matter how good it is, this is another level. Someone had this frame carved by a very virtuous master craftsman. It is made of chestnut wood and has a very exquisite carving, well carved, with great skill. It still preserves the pencil design of the master craftsman on the back On the back you can also see the mastery of the craftsman who made it. There are 4 parts made in the same piece, the strip and the carving that surrounds it. The mastery demonstrated, not only for aesthetics, but also for the difficulty of carving, chestnut wood being a rather hard wood. perfect finish Carved walnut wood frame with upper pompadour Perfect frame with the perfect size to put the university border or frame your university degree and hang it in your office It is a unique piece, carved by a master cabinetmaker or carver in Spain It is beautiful and its carving is fine, elegant and well made Due to its size and structure, it was surely carved with that intention, that of framing a title or graduation or a college border With a frame like this your title, border or even portrait, will give a distinguished, original and unique professional office touch It is a good opportunity to obtain a unique object, being as it is increasingly difficult to find master cabinetmakers who work with this fineness of wood. This frame with cornucopia carved in wood at the beginning of the 20th century This is not a simple frame, it is a work of art in itself. The perfection of its carvings is only comparable to those of the great carvings that can be seen in the churches and cathedrals of old Europe. These trades are already being lost and there are few cabinetmakers who continue to exercise their trade Louis XV style, late 19th or early 20th century Walnut wood caved...

Miniature Dogon Ladder: A Path to Personal Growth and Spiritual Enlightenment
Located in Stockholm, SE
Symbolically, miniature ladders like the Dogon ladder can hold various meanings depending on the context in which they are used and their cultural or historical background. In spiritual contexts, a ladder can symbolize a path to wisdom or enlightenment, reflecting a personal quest to achieve higher consciousness or insight.
