Ignazio Gardella Digamma Armchair in Emerald Green Lelièvre Fabric and Brass
By Lelièvre Paris, Santa Cole, Ignazio Gardella
Located in The Hague, NL
Designed by Ignazio Gardella in 1957, the Digamma lounge chair is a comfortable chair with roots in the late Italian modernist tradition. Its rational construction features two geometric sections - the rectangular upholstered back and seat - bound by a firm upholstered frame. The black metallic legs are finished off with Gardella's iconic brass 'duck' feet. The armchair has a three-position reclining backrest offering additional comfort and adjustability. This chair is a custom version realized by Santa & Cole for Kabinet Hubert, upholstered and sewn by hand in an emerald green Lelièvre fabric. This soft and dense fabric is a delicate combination of chenille and bouclé yarns. Ignazio Gardella was a member of the so-called third generation of the Modern Movement. He is considered one of the greatest exponents of Italian Rationalism, although he followed its principles in a much more personal way, searching to overcome its limitations. In 1957, he created the Digamma armchair...

Set of Mid-Century Modern faux fur Niemeyer II armchair stool by InsidherLand
By Joana Santos Barbosa, InsidherLand
Located in Maia, Porto
Gold Design Award Winner for Furniture Design Category at the A’Design Award Competition 2021-2022 Both the Niemeyer II fur armchair and stool are named after the Brazilian Architect Oscar Niemeyer whose Architecture was spread like sculptural poetry in the History of humankind. The rounded lines are influenced by the remarkable ‘Casa das Canoas’ designed by Niemeyer in 1951. The flat roof offers its flowing forms to the round seat. The backward movement of the curve that frames a large granite boulder is recreated by the location of the seams in a meticulous upholstered work that flows all around the arms of the armchair. The Niemeyer II armchair and stool...
