"I still remember my memories from childhood, when the horse bowed its velvet muzzle over me. Her huge wet eyes, which you couldn't keep your eyes off, are framed by fluffy long eyelashes. I saw in its eyes another unreal fairy-tale world. Adults said, just stroke her, it asks you. And I thought it wanted to tell me some secret. And I always wanted to learn horse language to understand it. This is what my painting "Ordinary Miracle" is about. The horse still remains a fabulous creature for me. It is like a magical vehicle that can take you to a wonderland and fulfill your innermost desire. It connects me to the world of mystery and magic."

Artist Bio:
Arthur James Beaumont was born in Yorkshire, England in 1877. He studied with Julius Olsson in London before moving to Paris at the turn of the century. In Paris, Beaumont studied at the Academie Julian* with William Adolphe Bougereau. The Academie awarded him a gold medal in 1905.
After completing his studies, Beaumont settled in Cornwall where he became known for his marine and landscape scenes as a member of the St. Ives School*, an artist colony. While living in Cornwall, Beaumont traveled to the United States to exhibit his paintings. In 1906 he settled in New York, buying a house on Staten Island with his brother and sister in law, Ernest and Henrietta Beaumont, also artists, who arrived from England in 1907.

"Your first impression of meeting a horse was magical. You felt the warmth and kindness of an animal. His wet breath uneasily enveloped you. And you perceived calmness and tenderness. In the painting, the artist tried to convey his impression of her meeting the horse. In the dead of night, when the rain is pouring, through the fog it reaches you out with its lips. And it's a little scary, and interesting, and you can feel the magic. The thinner was used to make random traces of paint on the canvas. Thanks to this, the painting turned out to be ghostly and the image is barely discernible." Ukrainian artist Eleonora Taranova, is currently based in Danemark.
